    Azelaic Acid is a straight-chain saturated dicarboxylic acid with 9 carbon atoms in its structure. It is naturally found in plants such as rye, wheat, and barley. Azelaic Acid powder is slightly soluble in cold water and easily soluble in general organic solvents. It is a fat-soluble dibasic acid.     What is the use of azelaic acid powder?

    1. Antibacterial.
      Azelaic acid can significantly reduce the number of Propionibacterium acnes in the skin and hair follicles by inhibiting the protein synthesis of Propionibacterium acnes, and has a killing effect on Staphylococcus epidermidis.
    2. Anti-inflammatory effect.
      Azelaic acid can inhibit the production of reactive oxygen free radicals and exert anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, azelaic acid can reduce the inflammatory cascade of cytokine interleukin-1β (IL-1β) by inhibiting nuclear transcription factor (NFκB).
    3. Regulate keratinization of hair follicles.
      Azelaic acid can reduce the synthesis of filamentous keratin and prevent excessive keratinization of hair follicles.
    4. Inhibit oil secretion.
      It can improve excessive oil secretion of the skin caused by androgen.
    5. Whitening and reducing pigmentation.
      Azelaic acid exerts a whitening effect by inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase, especially in reducing pigmentation. In addition, it can also hinder the proliferation of abnormal melanocytes.
