Natural resveratrol is mainly found in the root of Polygonum cuspidatum. The resveratrol content in the fresh root of Polygonum cuspidatum is higher than that in the fresh stem. However, high-content resveratrol can now be obtained through chemical synthesis and biological fermentation.
Resveratrol is a polyphenolic substance and a natural plant antibiotic. There are two geometric isomers: Cis and trans resveratrol powder. Trans resveratrol is more stable and has a higher active ingredient.
It appears as a white crystalline powder and is odorless. It is difficult to dissolve in water, but easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone.
