Pterostilbene is a natural stilbene compound found in small amounts in blueberries, grapes, and Indian pterostilbene. The appearance of Pterostilbene raw material is white or off-white powder crystal.

Its properties are similar to resveratrol, but pterostilbene has two methoxy groups, which increases its lipophilicity and bioavailability.

Function and Application

Pterostilbene has rich medicinal value and has multiple biological activities such as antioxidant, antibacterial and lipid-lowering.

1. For skin care. Studies have shown that pterostilbene has skin care effects such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, whitening and UV damage prevention. It has strong lipophilicity and is easier to penetrate the skin barrier.
2. Maintain intestinal homeostasis. Pterostilbene can reduce intestinal barrier damage induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS).
3. Anti-aging. Pterostilbene delays aging and protects mitochondria by optimizing mitochondrial homeostasis and promoting mitochondrial activity.
