Carbomer 940 is a white fluffy powder that is soluble in water, ethanol, and glycerin. It has a characteristic slight odor and is highly hygroscopic, often existing in water in an acidic form.
It is an important rheology modifier. The neutralized carbomer resin is an excellent gel matrix with important functions such as thickening and suspension.
